Grassdale Feedlot

Our business has progressively undertaken a number of development stages at Grassdale Feedlot for Mort & Co. Extension works have included upgrading a portion of the access road, construction of feedlot pens, with associated foundations, construction of a 183ML holding pond, water storage dams, weirs and modification of sediment ponds, drains and drainage lines, concrete structures, over 2 million m3 bulk

earthworks, on-site pavement crushing, cement stabilisation, a grain bunker pad and associated works. Pouring of concrete bunks and aprons was made more efficient with the use of the inhouse on-site mobile batch plant. Our quarry management included the drill and blast of over 400,000 ton of pavement material.

Scotia Central and Flank (CF) Plant Expansion

Santos

Santos Qld Upstream Developments awarded a contract to perform civil and piling works for the Scotia Central and Flank (CF) Gas Plant expansion project to support the Facilities Development Hub Expansion Program at Santos GLNG’s upstream field sites in western Queensland.

The scope of work included earthworks, precast concrete installation, underground services installation, roadworks, drainage, fencing installation, tank secondary containment construction, and site finishing.

Eurombah Creek Bulk Earthworks and Access Roads

Monadelphous for APLNG

A contract was awarded to construct the access road and complete bulk earthworks for APLNG’s Gas Processing Facility (GPF).


  • 13.5 kilometres of road construction, ​bulk earthworks for the road and GPF, ​over 80kms of electrical, conduits, HDPE stormwater pipe
  • 10,135m3 of complex concrete works including 1,354 concrete bored piles and subsequent structures
  • Multiple sedimentation ponds including concrete spillways
  • Detailed excavation, backfilling and compaction around concrete structures
  • Site rehabilitation
  • Supply of concrete and quarry materials

Goondicum Project

Goondicum Resources

The project saw the re-establishment of the previously shut down Goondicum ilmenite mine in Central Queensland. The scope of work undertaken included:

  • Vegetation clearing of the new mining areas
  • Holding and tailing dam construction
  • Construction of haul roads
  • Mining materials for processing
  • Haulage of Ilmenite to Gladstone port
  • Processing facility maintenance
  • Rehabilitation of old mining areas

Bauhinia Regional Rail, Rolleston

Queensland Rail Network


The contract awarded by Queensland Rail was for the construction of 30kms of track formation including the earthworks and drainage for the line stretching from QR’s Blackwater Coal System to Xstrata’s Rolleston Coal Mine. The project team also managed the testing of materials and coordinated the allocation of materials across the overall site. The project scope of works included:

● Clearing and grubbing
● 1,400,000m³ of bulk earthworks
● Topsoil and grass seeding of batters
● 800,000m³ of cut to controlled fill
● Drainage multi-cell culvert – up to 12 cells

GRASSDALE FEEDLOT

Mort & Co


Our business has progressively undertaken a number of development stages at Grassdale Feedlot for Mort & Co. Extension works have included upgrading a portion of the access road, construction of feedlot pens, with associated foundations, construction of a 183ML holding pond, water storage dams, weirs and modification of sediment ponds, drains and drainage lines, concrete structures, over 2 million m3 bulk earthworks, on-site pavement crushing, cement stabilisation, a grain bunker pad and associated works. Pouring of concrete bunks and aprons was made more efficient with the use of the inhouse on-site mobile batch plant. Our quarry management included the drill and blast of over 400,000 ton of pavement material.

    Cockatoo Coal

    An ongoing contract was awarded for the haulage, crushing and loading services of 1 million ton per annum at Baralaba Coal Mine. The crushed product was transported some 63km to Moura and loaded onto Queensland Rail trains.

    The project utilised AB triples road trains. Efficiency and reliability of the road coal haulage operations were of the utmost importance, with the coal mine operating 24 hours per day, 364 days a year.

    Early contract involvement included working collaboratively with the local shire council to upgrade sections of road along the haulage route and providing ongoing maintenance works during operations to ensure safe roads.

      BARALABA COAL MINE

      Origin Energy awarded a Master Service Agreement on behalf of APLNG for the supply of Field Services Lease and Access Works for over 850 coal seam gas well leases including APLNG’s tenements in Central and South West Queensland.

      The scope of work included excavation and construction of lease pads, rehabilitation of lease pads, building of infrastructure such as roads, general earthworks, excavation to spoil, erosion and sediment controls, transportation of materials, soil and materials testing, fencing, cellar & conductor installation, water cartage, water transfer systems movement, pavement, drainage works and quality control.


        Origin Energy


        Following our successful history working with Origin Energy, a follow-up contract was awarded for the construction of a 790ML brine pond. The pond provides additional brine storage at Origin Energy’s Talinga Water Treatment Facility near Chinchilla.



        The scope of work included bulk earthworks, installation of two-layer HDPE plus Geonet, reinforced concrete, an Interpond Transfer System, pump station and access road.


          TALINGA POND D

          Origin Energy

          This project involved the construction of two 500ML brine ponds at Condabri Central Water Treatment Facility site, near Miles to accommodate the increased production from the gas gathering wellheads.

          The scope of works included the construction of Condabri Ponds 5 & 6, complete with a three-layer liner system and associated infrastructure works, haul road corridors and stockpile areas, earthworks, reinforced concrete external spillways, double-lined HDPE containment system including leak detection and removal, fencing, Interpond Transfer System and rehabilitation works. The installed lining system for the ponds achieved a perfect zero defects outcome by an independent accredited third party tester.


            CONDABRI PONDS 5&6

            POND CONSTRUCTION & REHABILITATION

            This project was delivered under a centralised management structure with two ponds in the Northern region (Glendower -470ML and Broadwater - 412ML) and two ponds in the Southern region (Cameron - 350ML and Polaris - 598ML). The scope included bulk earthworks, temporary drainage works and sediment control, HDPE lining of the dam, dam crest capping, stormwater drainage, batter protection, security fencing, gates and rehabilitation.
