Goonoo Feedlot

RSA was engaged by the Australian Agricultural Company Limited (AACo) to deliver bulk earthworks and civil infrastructure for the Goonoo Feedlot Expansion, located on Comet River Road in Central Queensland, approximately 20 kilometres south of Comet and 65 kilometres from Emerald.

The project reconfigured and expanded the intensive feeding pens to increase the feedlot’s capacity by approximately 12,500 head, along with the construction of associated roads, drainage, and culvert infrastructure.

The works comprised the renovation of two existing 650-metre-long pens and the construction of seven new 400-metre-long high-density pens. The project was delivered across two stages, covering the southern pen rows and the northern expansion. Staging was carefully managed to allow works to proceed while the feedlot remained operational.
